Discovery Learning Alliance Featured in Clinton Global Initiative Virtual Reality Film

On Sunday, September 27, President Bill Clinton and the Clinton Global Initiative debuted a new virtual reality film called "Inside Impact: East Africa." It follows President Bill Clinton and Chelsea Clinton on their trip to East Africa in spring 2015, showing first-hand how CGI member organizations like Discovery Learning Alliance are changing lives and empowering communities.

Discovery Learning Alliance is pleased to be one of the organizations highlighted in this piece and proud to be working with dedicated educators like those at the Nairobi school seen in the film. In a scene in the film, a teacher trained by Discovery Learning Alliance (DLA) uses educational video content produced by DLA to engage her students about malaria prevention.

The goal of our school-based interventions is to increase student retention, enrollment, attendance and learning, and importantly – student motivation. As a member of the CGI CHARGE Initiative, DLA has committed to reaching girls to keep them in school and learning, as well as training teachers in student-centered, 21st century teaching and learning methods to help students achieve their full potential.

We are also grateful for our partnership with UK Department for International Development and Discovery Communications to transform girls' education and to be part of the CGI CHARGE commitment to bring transformative education to marginalized communities worldwide.

The film was produced and directed by Felix & Paul Studios in partnership with m ss ng p eces as part of Matter Unlimited's "Inside Impact" social impact project and virtual reality film series.
